Classroom timer
A big timer the whole room can read, on the projector, smartboard or classroom TV. Set the minutes and open it fullscreen. With a free account, you start, pause and reset it from your phone as you walk around the room.
Pause it from anywhere in the room
On a live screen, the remote on your phone starts, pauses and resets the timer, so you don’t have to go back to the computer. Every screen showing the link stops and starts together.
A timer for every part of the lesson
Use it for quiet reading, group work, quiz rounds, tidy-up time or a test. Big digits read from the back row, and the message at zero tells the class time is up without you raising your voice.
Save the timers you use most, such as a 5-minute warm-up and a 20-minute task, and open them again from your dashboard.
Put it on a TV
- Make it above. The preview is exactly what the screen shows.
- Open it on the screen. Press Open fullscreen on that device, or send yourself the link. For a TV with a free account, open ownscreen.com/tv and enter its code on your phone.
- Leave it running. It fits any screen size and asks the screen to stay on.
Questions
- Does it work on a smartboard or projector?
- Yes. Anything with a web browser works: an interactive whiteboard, a projector connected to a laptop, or a classroom TV.
- Can I use it as an exam timer?
- Yes. Set up to 600 minutes and change the text to something like “Exam ends in”. At zero it shows your message, such as “Pencils down!”.
- Are there ads or sign-ups?
- No ads. A plain timer needs no account, and a free account adds the phone remote.
