OwnScreen is run by Thinking Systems, LLC ("we", "us"). This page explains what we store and why. The short version: displays you share as links never reach us, and an account stores only what it needs to work.

A display link keeps the whole display after the #, and browsers don't send that part to servers. We never see, store or log those messages. OwnScreen adds no analytics, ads or tracking cookies.

If a display shows an image from another site, your browser loads it from that site, which sees your device's IP address and browser like any image on the web. OwnScreen never tells it which display asked for it.

If you sign in

We store:

  • your email address, to send sign-in links;
  • the screens you save, and the remote's state for live ones (slide, counter, timer);
  • your sign-in sessions, without your IP address or browser;
  • a scrambled form of your IP address for up to a day, to limit sign-in attempts.

The only cookie keeps you signed in. Sign-in emails are sent through Cloudflare Email Sending.

Live screens

A live screen's link shows that screen to anyone who opens it, without signing in. Stopping it turns the link off for good.

Pro

Stripe handles payments. We never see or store card details. We keep your Stripe customer and subscription IDs, whether the subscription is active, and when it renews. Stripe's own privacy policy covers the payment itself.

Who processes your data

  • Cloudflare hosts OwnScreen, stores account data and sends sign-in emails.
  • Stripe processes Pro payments.

We don't sell your data or share it with anyone else, unless the law requires it.

Your choices

In Settings you can download everything we have about your account, or delete it. Deleting removes your account, your saved screens and their remote state, and cancels Pro. Links you shared keep working, because they hold the whole display.
