Letter and category
Draw a letter for the letter and category game, with a category and a round timer on the screen. Each letter comes up once before any repeats. Free, with no app.
A letter and a category for the class
This is the classic letter game: show a category and a letter, start the timer, and everyone writes answers that fit before time runs out. The wheel draws each letter once before any letter comes up again, then starts a fresh round.
It works for classrooms, family game nights and parties on a projector, smartboard or TV. The letters are drawn with your browser’s random numbers, which is fine for a game; it is not certified randomness and not for gambling or betting.
Put it on a TV
- Make it above. The preview is exactly what the screen shows.
- Open it on the screen. Press Open fullscreen on that device, or send yourself the link. For a TV with an account, open ownscreen.com/tv and enter its code on your phone.
- Leave it running. It fits any screen size and asks the screen to stay on.
Questions
- How do I play?
- Show the category and letter, start the clock and let everyone write an answer. When the timer ends, compare the words and score them.
- Why does a letter not repeat?
- The wheel draws each letter once before any letter comes up again, so every round uses a fresh letter. Reloading the page starts a new set.
- Can I change the categories and letters?
- Yes. Pick a Category set and press New category, or type any category you like. The letters, round length and wheel or flick are yours to set too.
