Terms of Service

Last updated: October 10, 2026

OwnScreen is a product of Thinking Systems, LLC, a Wyoming limited liability company ("we", "us"). These terms cover ownscreen.com: the display links, the editor, accounts, live screens and the Pro plan. By using OwnScreen you agree to them. If you don't agree, please don't use it.

Using OwnScreen

Display links work without an account. A link holds the whole display after the #, which browsers don't send to our servers, so we never see those displays. Accounts are optional and let you save displays, put them on a live screen, use the remote and read the docs. The Privacy page explains what we store.

What you put on a screen

You're responsible for the messages, images, links and QR codes in your displays, and for where you show them. Don't use OwnScreen to:

  • break the law or anyone else's rights, including copyright and trademarks;
  • deceive people, for example with QR codes or links that lead to phishing or malware;
  • harass, threaten or endanger anyone;
  • show flashing content to people who haven't chosen to see it. Fast flashing can trigger seizures in people with photosensitive epilepsy.

We don't review displays. We may stop a live screen, or close an account, that breaks these terms. Where we reasonably can, we'll tell you first.

Accounts

You sign in with a link we email to you. Keep that inbox secure, because anyone who can read it can sign in as you. You can download your data or delete your account at any time in Settings. Deleting it removes your saved screens and cancels Pro.

Live screens

Anyone who has a live screen's link can see that screen, so share it only with people who should. Stopping a live screen turns its link off for good.

We work to keep OwnScreen running, but we can't promise it will always be available or that every device and browser will show a display correctly. Don't rely on OwnScreen for emergency, safety or legally required signage.

Pro

  • Price: Pro costs US$5 a month, paid in advance through Stripe. If we ever have to charge tax, you'll see it before you pay.
  • Renewal: Pro renews automatically every month until you cancel. Stripe charges the card you gave at checkout on each renewal date.
  • Cancelling: cancel at any time in Billing → Manage billing. You keep Pro until the end of the month you've paid for, and you won't be charged again.
  • Refunds: we don't refund partial months, except where the law requires it. If something went wrong with a charge, email us and we'll sort it out.
  • Price changes: we'll email you at least 30 days before a new price applies to your next renewal, so you can cancel first.
  • When Pro ends: the screen that has been live longest stays live, and your other live screens stop.

Our software and name

The OwnScreen name and logo belong to Thinking Systems, LLC. Bundled fonts and libraries keep their own open licenses.

Disclaimers and liability

OwnScreen is provided "as is" and "as available", without warranties of any kind, to the extent the law allows. To the extent the law allows, we aren't liable for indirect, incidental or consequential damages, or for lost profits or data. Our total liability for any claim about OwnScreen is limited to the amount you paid us in the 12 months before the claim. Some places don't allow these limits, so they may not all apply to you.

Changes to these terms

We may update these terms. We'll post the new version here and change the date at the top. If a change materially affects Pro, we'll also email Pro subscribers before it applies.

Governing law

These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Wyoming, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute about them will be resolved by binding arbitration in Wyoming.
