Online stopwatch
A stopwatch big enough for the whole room. Open it fullscreen on a TV, projector or laptop, then click or press Space to start and stop it, and R to reset. Free, with no app.
Start and stop it from your phone
On a live screen, the remote starts, pauses and resets the stopwatch, and every screen showing it keeps the same time. Useful when the person timing isn’t standing next to the TV.
Time a room, not just yourself
Time a rehearsal, a speech, a lab experiment, a timed quiz round or a plank challenge where everyone can see the clock. It counts up from zero in minutes and seconds, then hours, in digits big enough to read from the back of the room.
It starts paused. Click, tap or press Space (or a TV remote’s OK button) to start and stop it, and press R to reset it to zero. The time is kept in your browser; nothing is stored on our servers and no account is needed. It shows whole seconds and has no lap list yet.
Put it on a TV
- Make it above. The preview is exactly what the screen shows.
- Open it on the screen. Press Open fullscreen on that device, or send yourself the link. For a TV with an account, open ownscreen.com/tv and enter its code on your phone.
- Leave it running. It fits any screen size and asks the screen to stay on.
Questions
- How do I start and stop it?
- Open it fullscreen, then click, tap or press Space. Do it again to stop, and press R to reset. On a live screen, the remote on your phone has Start, Pause and Reset.
- Does it keep running if I reload?
- A plain link starts again from zero after a reload. On a live screen the time is kept by the screen, so a reload or a second TV shows the same time.
- Does it record laps or tenths of a second?
- Not yet. It shows whole seconds, which is what a room can read from a distance.
