Christmas charades
Christmas charades for a party or a family gathering: the TV keeps the category and the timer while the actor’s phone shows festive words one at a time. Free, with no app.
Free, no account needed. The link holds the whole sign.
The actor’s phone
Scan the code with the actor’s phone, or open the word list on this phone. Tap the phone for the next word; the TV keeps the time. Each code holds 20 words from the set in a random order; press New words for another 20.
Festive charades, word on the phone
Gather a team, pick an actor and open the TV link. The actor scans the code on their phone, taps for a Christmas word and acts it out: a snowman, a sleigh, carol singers or a Christmas pudding. The TV shows the category and the round timer, and the room guesses.
Tap for the next word after each correct guess and play until the timer reaches zero, then swap teams. No word repeats among the 20 on the actor’s code; press New words on the page for another 20. Choose a round of 30, 60, 90 or 120 seconds to suit the group.
The Christmas set is one of six family-friendly sets shared with the year-round charades page. The words stay on the actor’s phone, never on the TV, so the guessers see only the category and the time.

Questions
- How do you play Christmas charades?
- One player acts a Christmas word without speaking while their team guesses. The actor’s phone gives the word; the TV shows the category and the timer. A correct guess earns a point, then the actor taps for the next word.
- What does the actor’s phone do?
- It shows one Christmas word at a time and draws a new one on each tap, with no repeats among its 20 words. The TV never shows the words, so only the actor sees them.
- How do teams and scoring work?
- Play in two teams with one actor at a time. A point for each word guessed before the timer runs out; the TV can show a running score changed on the stage, or keep score on paper.
